Oak & Rye in Los Gatos presents itself as a neighborhood spot centered around wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas and refined small plates, making it well-suited for both casual dinners and laid-back evenings at the bar. The space balances a cozy yet energetic atmosphere, where the warm glow of a large brick oven anchors the room and invites conversation over thoughtfully crafted dishes and cocktails.

This restaurant effortlessly blends the simplicity of California-style thin-crust pizza with inventive flavors—standouts like the Commissioner Gordon cocktail and cheese arancini show a clear commitment to elevating what could otherwise be straightforward fare. The menu also stretches beyond pizza with items like shaved Brussels sprouts, arugula salad, and gnocchi, catering to those looking for fresh, lighter options alongside heartier plates like fried chicken and biscuits.

Visitors who appreciate a well-curated drink program will find Oak & Rye’s cocktail list compelling. Unique concoctions such as a miso-inspired cocktail and playful takes on classics demonstrate the bartenders' enthusiasm for flavor layering and balanced complexity, making the bar a destination even without a full meal. The inclusion of craft ciders and interesting pilsners complements the food well, rounding out the relaxed, unpretentious vibe.

The setting is informal but thoughtfully designed, with patio seating that catches Los Gatos’ temperate evenings and an interior that feels lively without being overwhelming. Families find it accommodating, particularly for those wanting a welcoming spot that can handle kids without sacrificing style or quality.

Service tends to be attentive and experienced, with staff who clearly know the menu and engage with guests in a way that enhances the overall dining experience. Some busy moments might slow pacing slightly, especially on weekends, but this doesn’t seem to detract significantly from visitors’ enjoyment.

Overall, Oak & Rye feels most inviting when seeking a night out that blurs the line between casual and special occasion—great for pizza lovers who want more than your standard pie, cocktail enthusiasts looking for thoughtful and playful drinks, and locals who appreciate a neighborhood restaurant where the vibe feels warm, real, and reliably satisfying.

This spot always delivers. The pizza flavor combos are great and the bake is always well executed. The cocktails really elevate the whole experience from just your average pizza place. Beer and wine list are good, too. The atmosphere is fun and unpretentious. But most of all, I love the level of service. From host persons, support staff and wait staff, it makes the whole meal a wonderful treat. When we're choosing to eat out less and less, Oak & Rye maintains one of the go-to places we'll save a place for. Thanks everyone and especially Zoe for the great service tonight. Cheers!

Pizza crust was excellent but the arugula/cheese topping was not great. The Margarita was better. Arugula salad was very good. Service was slow/confused. The patio seating was nice. Pretzel was good.

Tasty brick oven pizza and fresh salads This place was great! They have a big brick oven in the restaurant, and the pizza was really good. I usually like a super crispy crust, but theirs still tasted great. The arugula salad and shaved Brussels sprouts were fresh and light, really nice. The place is kid-friendly, which made it easy for the whole family to enjoy.

Oak & Rye in Los Gatos is one of those places that instantly pulls you in with its cozy yet energetic vibe. The bar is lively, the lighting feels just right, and the staff know their menu inside and out. I started with a miso-inspired cocktail that was incredibly unique—smooth, savory, and balanced with just the right touch of sweetness. I followed it with a creative twist on an Old Fashioned, and both drinks were crafted to perfection. For food, we shared two pizzas: the Jerk and the Commissioner Gordon. Both were absolute standouts. The crusts had that perfect wood-fired char, thin but still chewy, and every topping was layered thoughtfully for flavor and texture. The Jerk had a smoky, spiced kick that was addicting, while the Commissioner Gordon delivered a mix of savory and tangy that was just right. We also ordered the fried potatoes, and they were decadent—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and perfectly seasoned. Everything here feels elevated but not overdone. You can tell the chefs and bartenders really care about what they’re creating. Between the atmosphere, the flavors, and the creativity behind every dish and drink, Oak & Rye is easily one of the best dining spots in Los Gatos.

A pizza place with a minimalist approach to the overall design, decor, furniture and menu. All pizzas are thin crust and don't have a lot of ingredients which is not a bad thing until one contrasts them with the prices. Service is friendly and quick. The pizza feels light and is quite delicious. This is very much a California pizza joint.

My first impression off the bat wasn’t the greatest the wait time was over an hour and a half for a walk in (Make sure to do a reservation)….. BUT the service that was provided by Zoe and Keegan was absolutely exceptional!!! I would definitely recommend this place more due to the service they both had given our table! I’ve never experienced anything like this before! They both ensured to go above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy and satisfied with everything! They both definitely deserve a raise and kudos! The pricing is high for what it is and if you’re looking for a pizza with no flop this is definitely NOT the place! However the Goomba pizza was full of flavor and that was the better of the two we picked. The Margarita pizza could definitely be better. It lacked a lot of flavor and I used some hot honey to revive it, so that helped a lot! The ambiance feels very cozy and the look of the place is very nice! I’ll definitely come back to give the place another shot because the service was again out of this world and there is two more pizzas that I wanna try (Scotty 2 Hottie & The Jerk). I would definitely consider this place, but again keep in mind the pizzas aren’t crispy if that’s what you’re looking for. Service - 5/5 Price - 2/5 Ambiance - 5/5 Taste - 4/5
